Dermoscopy to the rescue as a diagnostic option
With dermoscopy emerging as a standard diagnostic tool, let’s go
over some cases where dermoscopy helps to clinch the diagnosis, and helps to
avoid biopsy. So, today we will discuss dermoscopic features of common
dermatological conditions which are uncommonly seen, under the dermoscope.

progressive development of painful, dusky rash which gradually became
fluid-filled. As we explored further, an underlying disease was revealed

thought.

Demystifying the vascular conundrum
Vascular tumours have always posed a diagnostic challenge, as many
appear analogous to the naked eye. Clinical suspicion of raised erythematous
or hyperpigmented vascular swellings presenting to the Dermatology OPD turned
out to be different from what they appeared to be on dermoscopy, revealing
certain characteristics. Dermoscopy findings were later confirmed on
histopathological examination of the specimen.

surprising result.
