Dr. Dattatraya Muzumdar is a highly experienced neurosurgeon with 30 years in the field. He pioneered the use of Intra-operative Electro-corticography in epilepsy surgery and was a key figure in the first comprehensive epilepsy surgery program in Western India, performing over 700 surgeries from 2001 to 2019, primarily serving underprivileged patients. He co-founded the Joint Neuro-oncology meetings between KEM and Tata Memorial Hospitals in 1999, aimed at multidisciplinary care for brain and spine tumor patients. Dr. Muzumdar is also a founding member of the Indian Society of Neuro-oncology and holds memberships in several prestigious medical societies. He has contributed extensively to medical literature, publishing over 170 research papers and writing 20 book chapters on neurosurgery.

He is Editor in Chief of Journal of Paediatric Neurosciences (Official journal of Indian Society for Paediatric Neurosurgery) and International Journal of Neuro-oncology (IJNO), Official Journal of the Indian Society of Neuro-oncology (ISNO)
