Our department had done pioneering work in portal hypertension, H. Pylori gastritis and cirrhotic cardiomyopathy.

There are regular intradepartmental as well as interdepartmental activities like GI-Pathology meets, GI-Radiology meets, PG teaching programme, case presentations and seminar & journal club presentations.

There are multiple multinational drug trials being conducted in the department and more 40 ongoing projects in pipeline.
