| INTENSIVE CORONARY CARE UNIT | The Intensive Coronary Care Unit located on 2nd floor is spread over an area of 1000 square feet and has 14 beds.The annual admissions to the ICCU is ~ 2000 per year and consists of patients with Acute Coronary Syndromes, Heart failure, Complex life threatening arrhythmias, Complete Heart Blocks, Pericardial tamponade, Valvular heart disease with Pulmonary edema, Infective endocarditis causing hemodynamic compromise etc. This ICCU also caters to the patients with post catheterization complications.
The ICCU is well equipped with one Senior Registrar and two Junior Doctors working round the clock. 4 out of 12 beds are equipped with multi parameter monitors which continuously monitor the Electrocardiogram, NIBP, Respiratory rate and Oxgen Saturation. Rest of the beds have Electrocardiographic scope monitoring .There is a central monitor which has the facility for recording and storing on-line ECG tracings of the ICCU admitted patients . There are facilities for temporary pacing, Defibrillation, Oxygenation, Invasive hemodynamic monitoring which include monitoring of CVP, Pulmonary capillary wedge pressure, and intra-arterial blood pressure. | CARDIOLOGY WARD 32 | Cardiology ward 32 is adjacent to the ICCU which serves as an intermediate care as well as general ward for patients admitted electively for procedures. It has 32 beds.
It caters to the admissions from the OPD, elective patients admitted for cardiac catheterizations and those transferred after stabilisation from the ICCU. There is one sister in charge for the ward and 2 junior staff Nurses working in shift duties who look after the patients in the ward.

It is a Philips Machine which is the latest in town providing the best resolution and clarity while doing procedures. It is located close to the ICCU.It is well equipped with all the essential pre-requisites needed for cardiac catheterization and emergency medical care.
The number of catheterizations performed per year is ~ 1900 with all types of diagnostic and therapeutic catheterizations. The procedures performed are coronary angiography and angioplasties, Balloon Mitral/Aortic and Pulmonary Valvotomy, pediatric catheterisations, Permanent pacemaker implantations, peripheral interventions like peripheral angiographies and angioplasty of renal, carotid, subclavian and Iliofemoral vessels.
Device closure of the ASD and PDA has been started in LTMMC Cath lab.
The Catheterization lab is well equipped with doctors and paramedical personnel. There are always three technicians, four servants, one Chief Sister in-charge and two Staff-nurses in the Lab all the time. There are always senior consultant supervising every case in the lab. The lab is functional from 8 AM to 5 PM most of the days. Emergency BMV’s are done irrespective of the hour and has got the best success rate with minimal complication rates comparable with the international standards.
It is a matter of pride for the entire department.
All the interventions are done with a CVTS back up in case of a complication with a very low morbidity and mortality

| Rural Health Training Centre (RHTC),Vasind | Rural Health Training Centre (RHTC):
The services of the Department of Community Medicine, LTMMC & GH extend beyond the hospital setting to reach rural and tribal populations through its Rural Health Training Centre.
The establishment of the RHTC was in accordance with the guidelines of the National Medical Commission (NMC), which mandate the presence of a Rural Health Training Centre as an essential component of a medical college.
Vasind PHC has been upgraded to function as a Rural Health Training Centre in May 2016. It caters to a large rural population and provides healthcare services through an organized network of subcentres, villages, and community-based health and nutrition facilities.
The RHTC, Vasind, supervises a total of eight subcentres, namely Ambarje, Asangaon, Aavale, Sane, Shere, Raykarpada, Vasind, and Valshet. The total population covered under this centre is approximately 84,345. The service area comprises 26 villages and includes 66 Anganwadi centres that provide nutrition and early childhood services under the Integrated Child Development Services (ICDS) scheme.
In addition, the RHTC area includes 56 paades and is administratively supported by 18 Gram Panchayats. Through this network, the RHTC facilitates the delivery of primary healthcare services, community outreach activities, and field training for medical and paramedical students. All the national health programmes are implemented at the grassroot level and supervised by the Community Medicine Department.
The RHTC also facilitates specialized referral services from LTMMC & GH, with regular visits by specialists from the departments of Obstetrics and Gynaecology, Paediatrics, Ophthalmology, Medicine, Orthopaedics, and Dermatology. | NCD and Preventive Clinic | NCD Corner
Non Communicable Diseases are one of the major challenges for public health in 21st century not only in terms of human sufferings, but also the harm/burden inflicted on the socioeconomic development of the country. In view of the same NCD corner was set up on 2nd August, 2022.
The purpose of the NCD corner is to screen all persons above the age of 30 years for Hypertension, Diabetes and Obesity. This is being done by checking their weight, height, blood pressure and Random Blood Sugar.
If any person has been found to have high BP, high Sugar level or are overweight / obese, they are referred to the medicine OPD for further management of hypertension & Diabetes and to Dietition for overweight/ Obesity. The data is uploaded on the NCD portal.
Preventive NCD Clinic
On 22nd September 2025, a preventive OPD was inaugurated by the dept. of Community Medicine in Medicine OPD 6 to give a continuum of care to the screening activities done. Follow up cases of chronic hypertension and diabetes are examined and personalised counselling on Lifestyle modification and importance of medicine adherence is given to the patients.
Tobacco Cessation OPD
A tobacco cessation centre has been established in psychiatry OPD on 24th September 2024 supported by Narotam Sekhsaria foundation. Patients screened for Non communicable diseases and found to have addiction to tobacco are referred to the counsellor present in the psychiatry OPD where specialized services are provided to help individuals quit tobacco use through counselling and medical support.
Under 5 Immunisation
Department of Community medicine took charge of the Under-5 immunization OPD on 01/07/2024. Vaccines are procured from F north ward and given as per the Universal immunisation schedule from birth to 5 years of age. Birth dose is given in the Post natal wards alongwith vaccination in Transitional care Unit (TCU) and additional doses to immunocompromised children. 9. Pediatric Centre of Excellence for HIV care (PCOE)
The Department of Pediatrics at the LTMGH houses the ‘Pediatric Center of Excellence for HIV Care [PCoE]’, which is the referral tertiary center for children with HIV for the state of Maharashtra.
Ø It is one of the seven Centers of Excellence in the country, providing comprehensive HIV care & treatment to 3715 registered HIV infected children as on February 2026.
Ø Palliative care is also provided for the children in need.
Ø The ‘Paediatric HIV Telemedicine Initiative’is an e-decentralized model of expert paediatric HIV care and a referral service which was started in 2013 as a pilot project through the PCoE in collaboration with NACO, MSACS, NHM, MCGM & UNICEF.
Ø This Telemedicine Initiative is a video-linked delivery of expert services, designed to reach the unreached HIV infected infants, children & adolescents with quality care, without them having to travel to Mumbai, thereby saving time, effort & expenses incurred for the same.
Ø Currently, we are linked with 92 ART centers from across Maharashtra and have reached out to nearly 2000 difficult-to-reach pediatric HIV patients providing expert advice and guidance on paediatric ART, management of opportunistic infections, management of treatment failures, counselling for HIV related issues, counselling for adolescent specific issues, age appropriate disclosure, in addition to mentoring & capacity building for health personnel, conducting mortality reviews, etc.

10. Pediatric Learning Disability Clinic
Ø This clinic was started in 1996 when it was the only centre for certification of specific learning disability, certified by the State of Maharashtra.
Ø This centre caters to testing of children with learning disorders, borderline intellectual functioning, slow learners,ADHD.
Ø It does a battery of tests required for testing intelligence and also for psycho-educational purposes.
Ø It offers comprehensive care for the diagnosis and management of these children including remedial education.
Ø Every year about 2000 children are certified from this centre.

Ø This clinic was started on 2nd January 2018 by the Division of Pediatric Hematology- Oncology.
Ø The ACT Clinic aims to provide ongoing care for children with malignancies even after they have completed chemotherapy.
Ø A thorough clinical, endocrine, psychologic and emotional evaluation of children with malignancies who have completed 2 years post chemotherapy is undertaken in this clinic and appropriate remediation is done in case of any abnormalities.
