The Department of Surgical Gastroenterology and GI HPB Oncosurgery was started in 2021 headed by Dr. Sachin Bhojankar, Associate professor Dr. Prashant Rao. It is the second department in the state offering super specialty services in surgical gastroenterology and a tertiary referral center. It has performed many major GI HPB Surgeries and provided OPD services to patients.

Our department also provides super speciality DrNB training for meritorious candidates.

1.     Advanced Laparoscopic surgeries

Ø  Laparoscopic upper GI Surgery for GERD and Achalasia  

Ø  Laparoscopic stomach resections

Ø  Laparoscopic small bowel surgeries

Ø  Laparoscopic pancreatic surgery for cancer and benign conditions

Ø  VATS (video assisted thoracoscopic surgery ) for esophageal tumours

Ø  Laparoscopic Colo-rectal surgery for cancer and benign conditions

Ø  Laparoscopic Hernia surgeries (TAPP& IPOM)

Ø  Laproscopic sex reassignment surgeries

Ø  Pancreatic resection (Whipple's PD and DPS)

Ø  Radical cholecystectomy for gallbladder malignancy

Ø  Surgery for colorectal malignancy
