  • To study the epidemiology as well as prevalence of SAM & MAM in an urban slum followed by A Community based Randomised Contol Trial to evaluate the efficacy of RUTF (Ready To Use Therapeutic Food) supplementation in children with severe as well as moderate acute malnutrition
  • To develop the public health model for malaria control in the urban slums utilizing the existing infrastructure. – In collaboration with CSSC, Bandra

  • An open-label, multi-centric bridging study to assess the safety to Novartis Pandemic  Influenza A (H1N1) 2009 monovalent Vaccine (suspension containing 15 micrograms hemagglutinin per 0.5 ml dose of A/California/7/2009 (H1N1) v-like virus, Novartis Vaccines and Diagnostics Ltd. ) administered as intramuscular dose(s) to healthy Subject 4-65 years.

IN THE YEAR 2003

  • A study of quality of services offered to the inpatients of L.T.M. General Hospital funded by “Swachata Nayas. “
  • “KISHORI” Adolescent Empowerment project at Urban Health Centre Dharavi. Funded by UNICEF FOGSI Partners – L.T.M. General Hospital, FOGSI, UNICEF, ICDS and Intergold. Multidisciplinary Project involving department of P.S.M. Gynecology Obstetric and Medicine. 
  • Assessment of injection practices in India: Unsafe injections are posing a major health hazard all over the world and are a threat to spread of HIV and Hepatitis B infections which cause a lot of burden to the community. PSM Department conducted the quantitative evaluation in rural and urban areas of Maharashtra Thus a study was undertaken at All India level for the Government of India which entrusted this job on India CLEN Program. Evaluation network, a body of India CLEN in which L.T.M. Medical College was a partner medical College. 
  • Reproductive health profile of women in two urban slum communities in Mumbai Lotus colony, Govandi & Ramabai Nagar, Chembur. In collaboration with an NGO, CORO ( Committee of Resource organization) & Mac Arthur International Foundation.
